Home / M-Projects / Server monitoring system
The maintenance of many IT systems requires tools that monitor the basic parameters of machines, such as: CPU, RAM, network consumption, disk space usage, etc. Therefore, there was a need to implement a monitoring system that includes a combination of two tools - Grafana and Prometheus.
Grafana is an open source cross-platform web application for analytics and interactive visualization. When connected to supported data sources, it provides graphs, charts, and alerts on the web. End users can create complex monitoring dashboards with interactive query builders. Thanks to it, it is possible to create appropriate charts with little effort.
Prometheus is an application used for event monitoring and alerting. It records real-time metrics in a time series database, allowing for high dimensionality built using the HTTP pull model, with flexible real-time queries and alerts. It is a link between the server from which it retrieves data in real time and the graph to which it transmits the data.
